The absolute classic
The fewer and larger the links of the chain, the gentler it is on the fur; the wider it is, the more comfortable it is for the dog. A dog collar is put on by threading the entire length of the chain through one of the rings at the end and then placing the resulting loop around the dog's neck. A leash can then be attached to the other of the two rings. This most common method creates a choking effect if pulled.
Always use a stopper to prevent the chain from closing completely.
Alternatively, the leash can be attached to both rings. This avoids a choking effect, but the length must then be a perfect fit.
